Day #2:
In a word: frusterating
Arm Band:
Putting on the arm band was a butt-pain. The manual is less than specific regarding what happens after you put the arm band on...does it beep? do both the lights turn on? does one light turn on or blink? Without knowing this it makes thing frustrating for a technology challenged person like myself. Through trial and error, the arm band beeps and blinks if it makes a connection then goes silent until you take it off. It can take up to 10 minutes to make a connection. On Day #3 I found if you swing your arm a few times the connection is quicker.
Calorie/Food tracker:
The calorie/food tracker is boarder-line worthless. Example: If you ate a cup of strawberries and wanted to log it, you'd type strawberry and the system will pull up everything BUT a raw, unaltered strawberry. If you eat out or eat boxed processed foods 3 meals a day, you will have NO problem finding the stats for what you ate. That crap is all over the list! If you want to put in a food not on the list it's a real pain. For example: a chicken sandwich on chabatta bread with lime-cilantro mayo. The calorie/food value info is provided with the recipe (from Cooking Light). So to log this you can't just name it and input the calorie/food values in. You have to put each thing in separately WITH food values. This can be really time consuming especially because the list does not have Chabatta bread or lime-cilantro mayo. To skip putting in all the ingredients and food values you can choose one ingredient on the list such as chicken and manuplate the serving size until it reaches the calorie content for the food. The problem with this is it throws off your ratios protein, carb, fat ratio. The result is the calorie/food tracker is less accurate than using paper and pen!
Calorie Counts:
Day #2: 2407 with 55 minutes of toning (according to the HR monitor I've used for 2 years I burn between 250-300 calories on this workout)
Day #3: 2143 with 60 minutes of high-intensity plyo (P90X) workout (usually burn 550-600 calories)
According to Bodybugg I burn more calories with less exertion...not sure what to think of this. I'm aware Bodybugg measures calories totally differently than an HR monitor. I'll keep looking at these numbers over the next week and see what happens.
